About The Webinar

Pilates is a form of exercise which incorporates core stability training, flexibility, breath control and concentration. Pilates-based exercises are often used by Physiotherapists and Pilates classes are well attended by people with the aim of achieving differing outcomes, for example; reducing back pain, improving strength and flexibility and improving balance. To date published research has shown that Pilates is no more beneficial than other forms of exercise (Pereira et al 2012;Fox et al 2016). During this webinar Esther Fox will focus on some of the underlying misconceptions behind the use of Pilates and present some of the evidence for where the use of Pilates is most beneficial, to enable clinicians to best direct resources.
